Here is a list of some fix prepositions which commonly confuse a new learner and become hurdle on the path to be perfect at this global language:

1) Abhorrence of (a strong feeling of hate paired with a feeling of loathing)
 I have a strong abhorrence of violence.
2) Abide by(to follow the rules of something; to obey someone's orders)
 I have to abide by my father's wishes.
3) Abstain from (hold oneself back, used for food habits)
